A good job is one thing, a good product is another. A fair price usually helps, however with home repairs you may get one or 2 of these at a time (if you’re lucky)

With Nathen, I was absolutely amazed at just how he was able to not only get all three, but was also able to keep customer service as the main point.
He came out and listened to what our concerns were, discussed why they were valid, and how he could address these concerns for us.

Once he got measurements on everything we needed and wanted, he gave us a quote that absolutely floored us, but in a great way.
I had quotes from a “major company” that gave us a quote by looking at pictures online, and the information online that was well over 2.5x’s what Nathen gave me. And get this, they were the same windows. I know this due to seeing the model numbers from the examples they brought out.

Once my windows came in, he came out and installed them. Not just some crew I didn’t know. He himself. And let me tell you, they look fantastic, and we can already tell a big difference in the house. I appreciate his time, his transparency, and his knowledge along with his character and respect. All of my properties will now be “windows for life”properties.

I choose Windows For Life to replace our cracked windows because he had great reviews and great customer service plus he was a local contractor in our area. He was very thorough and installed windows himself.

The windows he installed are of high quality and have a good life time warranty. He gave us a very fair and reasonable price. Nathan is very courteous and went out of his way to provide great customer care.

What Happens During a Winter Window Emergency

Here’s the reality: a broken window in winter creates multiple problems simultaneously.

Cold air floods your home, your heating system runs constantly trying to compensate, and exposed openings invite moisture damage. If the break happens at night, you’re losing heat for hours before anyone can help.

We’ve seen all of this play out dozens of times each winter. The faster you get the window secured or repaired, the less secondary damage you deal with.

Types of Windows We Repair

Window Type Common Winter Issues Repair Approach
Double-Hung Broken sash, cracked glass, seal failure Replace glass unit or sash, repair or replace hardware
Casement Crank failure, hinge damage, broken glass Replace glass, repair or replace crank mechanism
Sliding Cracked panels, frozen tracks, broken locks Replace glass, clean and repair track system
Picture Cracked glass from stress, seal failure Replace entire glass unit, reseal frame
Bay/Bow Individual panel damage, frame stress cracks Repair or replace affected panels, assess frame

Temporary Securing vs. Permanent Repair

Sometimes we can fix your window the same day. Other times, we need to order custom glass or parts. Here’s how we handle both situations.

Most emergency repairs get permanent fixes within 2-3 days. Custom glass takes longer, but we keep your home protected while we wait.

Winter Window Maintenance Tips

You can’t prevent every window emergency, but you can spot problems before they turn into 2 AM disasters.

Check your windows before winter hits. Run your hand around the frame and feel for drafts. Look at the glass for small cracks that might spread when temps drop. Test all locks and hardware. If something feels off, it probably is.

Clean your window tracks and weep holes in late fall. Debris and standing water freeze in winter and cause damage. Keep trees and branches trimmed back from your house. Ice-laden branches break windows fast.

If you have old single-pane windows, consider upgrading before winter. They’re fragile, inefficient, and more likely to fail in extreme cold. One bad storm can break multiple single-pane windows at once.

Frequently Asked Questions

Depends on the time and severity. We prioritize calls where the home is actively losing heat or security is compromised. Most emergency calls get a response within a few hours during business days. After-hours emergencies might take longer, but we answer the phone and work with you to secure the situation. If we can’t get there immediately, we’ll walk you through temporary measures to minimize damage.

Yes, but there are limits. We can remove broken glass, secure openings, and install temporary protection in any weather. Permanent glass installation works best above freezing because sealants and adhesives need proper curing temps. If it’s extremely cold, we might do a professional temporary seal and schedule the final installation for slightly warmer weather. Either way, your home stays protected.

Usually depends on what caused the damage. Storm damage and break-ins typically get covered, minus your deductible. Seal failure from age or wear usually doesn’t. We can provide documentation and work with your insurance company if needed. The important thing is securing your home first and sorting out coverage after.
We assess frame damage during the initial visit. Minor damage gets repaired as part of the window fix. Serious rot, warping, or structural issues might require full window replacement. We’ll explain what we find and give you options. Sometimes repairing the frame costs more than replacing the whole window, and we’ll tell you that honestly.

Windows For Life provides emergency window repair throughout Middle Tennessee. Tennessee winters might not be Minnesota-level brutal, but they’re unpredictable. One day it’s 50 degrees, the next it’s 20 with ice. That’s hard on windows. If you’re near Radnor Lake State Park or exploring downtown Nashville around The Parthenon, you know this area gets real winter weather. Your windows need to handle it.
